Q + A

1. Tell us about yourself- who are you, and what do you do?
My name is Nikki! I create custom merchandise and promotional products for a wide variety of clients and brands. I make it my business to know the in's and out's of any brand, so that they can outsource all their gifting and personalized item needs. From designing, sourcing, manufacturing & tracking, I am a one-stop-shop that clients can trust.

2. What is your favorite thing about what you do?
I have a background in graphic design and art, so everything I create is hand-designed to my client's needs. The design process is my favorite aspect - from the client's desired artwork on the item to the item itself! I love taking an idea and making it reality.

3. What currently inspires you?
Give-back items! I'm seeing a huge change in our industry that is sustainable and charitable.

4. What are you looking forward to for your business/ brand this year?
This year, I look forward to a new branch of our business - PPE! We have always had the ability to create custom masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, etc. but with COVID-19 at large, we are seeing an influx of clients wanting custom PPE. While most of my business this year has been blank PPE materials, I look forward to adding my artistic flare to an otherwise boring item. Things as simple as adding a smiley face to a mask really adds a human touch, while promoting my client's brand.

5. What do you want people to know about your work?
Our industry has a reputation for being cheap, throw-away items. I love my job because of our capabilities outside of that space. Some of my favorite projects have actually been high-end retail items like customized Patagonia jackets & branded Yeti Coolers! We can access around 80% of the retail market and cobrand to them.
Keep Yourself Organized With These Amazon Finds!

Keep Yourself Organized With These Amazon Finds!

I don’t know about you, but I am 100% a better worker when my office space is neat and organized. Having clutter surrounding me makes me feel cluttered, and it’s sometimes hard for me to focus unless I clean my space!

Since I’m not trying to start every morning with a deep clean, 😅 I’ve compiled a list of products found on Amazon to help keep things tidy! Bonus points- they’re also really cute.

These Leather Cord Organizers

I LOVE my technology, but I don’t love having tangled cords on my desk. These leather cord organizers are the perfect tool to keep your cords in line, and they’re a trendy neutral as well!

This Phone Stand

This phone stand is a game changer- not only does it keep your phone charged and propped up for a FaceTime call, but it also helps keep you focused and off of social media when you need to work! It comes in a variety of colors, so it’s sure to match your aesthetic.

This Acrylic Monthly Calendar

This acrylic monthly calendar by Russell + Hazel is a little more expensive than the average wall mounted calendar, but it’s a LOT more beautiful! They also have matching pen cups, hooks, and containers to hold all your desk items!

This Mug Warmer

Nothing keeps me focused on my work like a warm cup o’ joe– that’s why this mug warmer is amazing! Sleek and small, this little guy will keep your latte warm all through the day. It also comes in black!

These Plastic File Organizers

Call me old fashioned, but I still keep important files, and these plastic file organizers are a WAY better place to put them than stuffed in a desk drawer. 😅 Don’t love pink? These come in a variety of trendy colors. These are just a few items, but hopefully they make you feel more organized and ready to tackle all your projects! What is your biggest challenge when it comes to organizing your office?

1. Tell us about yourself- who are you, and what do you do?

Hi! My name is Najah, founder and baker at Mason Cookie. Mason Cookie evolved from a playful idea through conversation with my partner. That’s when I decided cookies inside of Mason Jars was the way to go! After tons of recipe testing (and of course tasting 😋) I perfected a menu that offers 7 staple cookie flavors and features one new flavor per month. Each batch is handcrafted, baked to order, and made with love. It is my hope that through every order received, my customer unboxes a lasting experience filled with joy.

4. What are you looking forward to for your business/ brand this year?

I’m looking forward to Mason Cookie reaching more homes and businesses and I am particularly excited about this years’ holiday season! The holidays are my favorite time of year and I plan to release some pretty exciting flavors for everyone to enjoy with their families.

Q + A

1. Tell us about yourself- who are you, and what do you do?

I’m Laura Maloney. I’m a virtual assistant and a personal development blogger. As a virtual assistant specializing in PR and social media management, I support women entrepreneurs by saving them valuable time to care for themselves as well as landing them valuable press and helping them generate buzz around their businesses. As a personal development blogger, I facilitate conversations around self-care, insecurities, and mindset. I’m an advocate for authenticity online, encouraging others to share their struggles along with their successes. I recently self-published a guided journal that helps individuals use the process of cognitive reframing to work through their insecurities and create confidence over time.

2. When and why did you start your business/brand?

I have always been drawn to topics and brands around self-care, self-love, and self-improvement. I think one of the core beliefs I hold in my life is that everyone deserves to experience joy. I try to promote that through both my work as a virtual assistant and through the content I create on my platform.

I started blogging soon after college as a way to share my journey and the struggles I had overcome. From there, I met so many amazing people who connected with my message. I took my PR and marketing background and began reaching out to small business owners. I offered to help them in any way I could, from managing their social media pages and creating content to lending a hand with file management and data mining projects. I feel so aligned with my purpose when I’m able to support inspiring business owners and help people make positive changes in their lives.

3. What currently inspires you?

I’m always inspired by ambitious women who show up in their lives and businesses fully. The ones who exude confidence and aren’t afraid to be 100% real. Whenever insecurities start to creep up in the back of my head, I think about those type of women and imagine what they would do in my situation.

4. What are you looking forward to for your business/ brand this year?

I’m excited to continue to venture outside my comfort zone this year. I hope to connect with even more business owners in the wellness industry and help them grow their businesses. I’m also looking forward to publishing a second guided journal in the near future.

5. What do you want people to know about your work?

I love meeting up with business owners over coffee (or virtual-coffee these days) to brainstorm marketing ideas or talk honestly about the obstacles we are going through. People can reach me at lauramaloneypr@gmail.com or DM on Instagram @theselfset.

Meet Haley Hoffman Smith

Meet Haley Hoffman Smith

Haley Hoffman Smith could inspire you by reading the back of a cereal box. No joke, she’s that good, which explains why she’s been asked by universities and organizations nationwide to come and give one of her amazing talks. Need the proof? Just ask Forbes, as she was “recently named one of today’s Most Influential Female Speakers by Forbes, and a Top 12 Motivational Speaker to Capture Your Audience.”

You can find her bestselling book, Her Big Idea, on the 2018 Must-Read list by the Tory Burch Foundation, and she’s the “founder of the first-ever women’s entrepreneurship incubator on the Brown University campus.” She does all this, while sporting a flawless pair of her own line of false lashes. See? We told you she’s inspiring. Take a look at her Q+A below, and if you can’t get enough, check out her podcast after!

Q + A

1. Tell us about yourself- who are you, and what do you do?

I’m an author, motivational speaker, and I also run a PR & ghostwriting company that helps entrepreneurs gain visibility and communicate their messages! I also have a podcast called Big Conversations where I talk about motivation, spirituality, biohacking, and all aspects of entrepreneurship, and I recently signed with MMG in NYC as a model and actress.

2. When and why did you start your business/brand?

My brand is a bit of an evolution from my first ever business. I began a nonprofit called Lit Without Limits at age 18 (back in 2015) that donated books and an accompanying curriculum to girls around the world in mentoring groups. Then, I got really excited about encouraging more women to start their businesses, because I saw how taking action on an idea that was formerly just in my head brought me such a sense of purpose and empowerment. So, I began a lot of my work around encouraging women in entrepreneurship through the publication of my book, Her Big Idea, the creation of an incubator for female students on the Brown campus when I was a student there, and then I partnered with Brown to launch the Her Big Idea Fund which allocates grants to women with BIG ideas who need the financial means to bring it to life.

3. What currently inspires you?

Just yesterday, the song “Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw came on shuffle and I was covered head to toe with chills. I first heard that song when my dad’s best friend died when I was 12. I haven’t had a lot of experience with death in my life, but that experience really showed me how fragile life is. Anything that reminds me that we only have one life and we might as well do it ALL and do it BIG makes me so emotional. It’s my constant driving inspiration.

4. What are you looking forward to for your business/ brand this year?

I’m looking forward to the unexpected this year! I feel myself evolving even more. I now feel that my life mission isn’t only to help women bring their big ideas to life, but to bring their big DREAMS to life more generally. I think we all knew what we wanted to be and wanted to do as kids but now that’s lost under layers of invalidation. But our dream is our truth. And we deserve to do everything we’ve ever wanted to do, and smash the pipe dreams, making them real.

5. What do you want people to know about your work?

I want people to know I’m here to serve! I want to help people understand that their dreams, wishes, and hopes are theirs for a reason, and to totally take ownership of them and see where it leads.
